Default Universal BCAA - where is it?!

Just received an order i placed for a tub of Universal BCAA for £22; open it up to have before the gym and i'm greeted with a half empty tub!

This is my first try of Universal BCAA and I know some of their stuff can somtimes be on the pricey side as they make some good supplements, but £22 for a half empty tub felt like a kick in the teeth!

It's almost as bad as the time i spent £35 on a tub of maximuscle progain (it was xmas, all the online shops were shut and i ran out of protein - it was a last resort!) only to find the massive container was half empty, and the scoop was twice the size of a normal scoop you find it most protein supplements!

Here's a picture to illustrate how empty the tubs of Universal BCAA really is!

Has anyone tried Universal BCAA before? Am I being silly that in feeling hard done by being sold a half empty tub?

The picture says 120 capsules. I suppose you could count them. Or if it's the wrong picture and it's actually powder then you could weigh it to make sure you weren't shorted. But powdered supplements often settle during shipping and don't look full. Also many companies use larger packaging to "trick" buyers who are actually looking at their product on the shelf into believing they are getting more than they actually get. Another common ploy in the supplement industry is to list ingredient values as a total such as it takes 3 capsules to equal the amounts listed on a bottle of 90 capsules. So you think you might get 90 doses in that amount but in reality it's 30 doses or even worse yet, you take 3 capsules 3 times a day for a total of only a 10 days supply. Caveat emptor - buyer beware.

Haha, i've been stung by that one before.

Like Doc has said, it's a common trick in the bodybuilding industry, there are also a few food companies which do the same thing with packets of crisps etc.

Yeah, it's the wrong picture. I tried finding a photo of the tub which i received (they look exactly the same but just in powdered form instead of capsules).

I'm certain I wasn't shorted, I think it's just a case of making it look like there's more in the tub than there actually is. I've fallen for it a few times before lol.

Yeah, i've also been had by the whole 3 capsules per serving thing too! I took a picture of my BCAA tub on my phone with the little amount of powder which is in there which i'll upload sometime so you can see just how empty the tub really is!
